Program Themes & Language

 

Contributions are welcome from all fields of research related to loess science and geomorphology and their applications.

English will be the official language of the Workshop. Simultaneous translation services will not be available.

CONFERENCE VENUE/PRESENTATION

 

The workshop will be held at the Faculty of Sciences in the University of Pécs, in Pécs, Hungary, on 17–21st October 2010. Pécs, is the capital town of Baranya County (of 180,000 citizens), located in southern Hungary, 200 km to the south of Budapest. The University campus, where the meeting will take place is in the center the city of Pécs. It is the second largest University in Hungary with more than 35 thousand students, and 10 different Faculties. The Anjou king Louis the Great establishes Hungary's first university in Pécs in 1367. Pécs is the cultural, economic capital of southern Transdanubia, with commercial centers, foreign embassies, industrial areas and government offices, hotels and resorts.

Pécs enjoys a submediterranean climate, with average temperatures about 15˚C in October. Pécs, can be reached by rail, by bus or by car via Budapest. More details about transfers from Budapest Airport will be done in the final program.
